Holy cow! It's May!
Well...It's been May for two weeks now. But any-who... it blows my mind! The past two months have been fairly slow for me to say the least which means more writing and pre-production planning for my new film that I will be directing, producing and playing one of the roles. It's a simple, brutal, modernized female-led western and I am pretty stoked about it! We will be crowd funding in the next two months and such so keep your eyes open for updates on Wolves Inside.
Even though work was slow there for awhile of course it picked up like crazy recently! It's the frustrating and humbling experience with being an artist. The lulls bring out fear and doubt but if you really push through than you'll see the horizon and start creating on your own- so when the busy times do come back around you feel grateful.
In late April I was able to attend the Hill Country Film Festival in Fredericksburg, Texas. Our short film, The Debt was selected and premiered at the festival and a few of us from the production came out in support. It was a wonderful experience, met a lot of filmmakers from all over and saw some truly unique films. Overall had a blast at the fest and I will definitely be attending next year.
My short film The Saw has been accepted into another film festival, Yes, Let's Make a Movie Film Festival and I am actually nominated for Best Director! How crazy and cool, huh? I am very excited that people have enjoyed my film and feel fortunate that it's even been nominated!
I had my 201 Improv Showcase this past Sunday at the fabulous Institution Theater! This is such a special group most of us have been together since 101 and we all hope to stay with each other till the end... OF TIME... Just kidding! Till at least 601 graduation. But for now we are all preparing to start 301 in early June!
Welp, that is about it for now! Have a fairly cool booking coming up so look out for more information on that in the future.
For now, I will be enjoying this warmer weather and preparing for the summer to bring lots of sunshine, higher temperatures and hopefully more work!
Thanks for stopping by y'all!
